People in Namibia's slums:

Time for a drink .....all day long

Most of the men would be gone all day to look for work. In many places I saw them stand along the roadside from sun up to sun down waiting for some white employer to hire them for the day. I didn't have to live long in the slums before I understood why many of them eventually gave up. And sitting around your tin shack all day long in the hot dessert sun there wasn't much else to do but to drink. This family was the first one to take me in in Katutura as drunk people tend to show faster hospitality.
